Wisdom of Trees
Find Rest
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.

Enlighten My Darkness
The Lord my God will
enlighten my darkness,
For by You I can run
against a troop,
And by my God I can leap
over a wall.
As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is
proven;
He is a shield o all who
trust in Him.

For He Shall Give His angels Charge Over You...
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
Psalms 91:9-13
Secret Place of the Most High

Let the Rivers clap their hands
Psalm 98:8-9
The Sea cannot sink a ship
An entire sea of water can't sink a ship unless it gets inside the ship. Similarly, the negativity of the world can't put you down unless you allow it to get inside of you.

The Bread of Life
And Jesus said to them; "I am the bread of life He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst."
John 6:35
Splendor is the Sun
as glorious to behold as the sight of the heavens.
The sun, when it appears, proclaims as it rises
what a marvelous instrument it is, the work of the Most High.
Ecclesiasticus 43:1-2
Be thou my vision
Be Thou My Vision
Naught be all else to me, save that thou art;
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.
The Wild Flower's Song
The Wild Flower's Song
The green leaves among,
I heard aa Wild flower
Singing a song.
As rosy as morn,
To seek for new joy;
But Oh! met with scorn.

The Sun will rise
"Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise."
~Victor Hugo, Les Misérables
Allow hope for a brighter day to be a motivating force in your darkest moments. Remind yourself that the sun will rise tomorrow and that we have the opportunity to celebrate the new beginning that each day brings. Each new sunrise brings hope.
Enter by the Narrow Gate
"Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. for the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few."
Matthew 7:13-14
Spot the Moment the Grass turns Green
"I have been thinking about the change of the seasons. I don't want to miss spring this year. I want to be there on the spot the moment the grass turns green."

Do Not Conformed to this World
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God--what is good and acceptable and perfect.

The Highest of the Mountains
In the Beginning
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And god said "Let there be light," and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. and there was evening and there was morning, the first day. ...

Grasping for the Wind
are done under the sun; and
indeed, all is vanity and grasping
for the wind.
And what is lacking cannot
saying, "Look, I have attained
more wisdom than all who were
has understood great wisdom
and knowledge."
And I set my heart to know
wisdom and to know madness
and folly. I perceived that this
also is grasping for the wind.
For in much wisdom is
much grief.
And he who increases
knowledge increases
sorrow.
Nothing New Under the Sun
That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.
Savor Each Day
This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
to think, to enjoy, to love."
~~Marcus Aurelius
Lift up your eyes
"Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together."
John 4:35-36

Yours is the Day and also the Night
you established the sun and moon.
It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth'
you made both summer and winter.
From Heaven the Lord looks down
the people he chose for his inheritance.
From heaven the LORD looks down
and sees all mankind;
from his dwelling place he watches
all who live on earth--
he who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.
The Grass Withers, the flower fades
The Voice said, "Cry out!" And he said, "What shall I cry?"
And all its loveliness is like
the flower of the field.
The grass withers, the flower fades,
Because the breath of the
Lord blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.
The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God
stands forever."

Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Live Salty
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot."

Letting Go to Move Forward
"We know that our loved one has died. Do we recognize that in that death a part of us has died, too! The part of us that lived in our relationship to that person alive in the world has died. The part of us that lived in expectation of a future on earth together has died. The part of us that enjoyed the commonality of shared memories has died. This is a lot to lose... We have to let go and then in the spaces where those deaths have occurred, new life will spring. Some of the new life may be our new relationship with our lost love." ~Martha Hickman
"At every point in the human journey we find that we have to let go in order to move forward; and letting go means dying a little. In the process we are being created anew, awakened afresh to the source of our being." ~Kathleen Fischer
My journal of grief for my daughter Crystal involves a part of me dying. I have turned to the spirit of her creativity in her art work to help move forward. My new relationship is with her as an artist and her legacy of writing notes and cards for the people she loved. I have continued that legacy with my Card Ministry "Crystal Expressions." I joined multiple groups "Cards of Kindness, Cards for Cool Kids, Small Acts Big Change, Braid Missions, Smiles for Seniors, etc. to share her passion for coloring and designing cards. It gives me comfort sharing her artwork with others.
I have opened my hand and heart to relinquish and to receive.

The Flower of Joy
"Faith is born and sustained by the word of God, and out of faith grows the flower of joy."
John Piper, Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist
The Skies Proclaim the Work of His Hands
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.
Psalm 19:1-4 NIV
"Never be Afraid to Trust an Unknown Future to a Known God"
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Do Not Lose Heart
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Lift My Eyes to the Mountains
"I have overcome the World"
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
John 16:33
No One Will Take Your Joy
So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
John 16:22
