A Sea Life Morning

There was a hurricane in the Atlantic that hit Bermuda over the weekend.  The beaches were swarming with sea birds.  The population of birds was more then normal.  Dolphins were swimming in Matazanas River at Washington Oaks.  I sit and watch them for a few minutes.

Early Morning Sunlight Washington Oaks Park

Early morning sunlight just made the gardens glisten with a golden glow.  These photos were taken on Saturday morning.

Fort Matanzas Nature Trail Boardwalk

Fort Matanzas has a large conservation area on the beach.  The park has a nature trail boardwalk for people to use to walk over to the beach.  The deck protects the wildlife, sand dunes and vegetation.  These photos were taken at sunset.

Sunset over Matanzas River and Marsh

Waterway Park is a small park with nature trails and a view of Matanzas Fort, River and the marsh. The trees glowed with the evening sunlight.  The sky turned reddish orange over the green lush colors of the marsh just a spectacular scene.

The Sun Peeking at Crescent Beach

The sky was too cloudy to allow the sun to rise brightly on this particular morning.  It created interesting cloud and sky formations in the struggle of the sun peeking through the dense clouds.

Washington Oaks in the Shadows

I seldom take pictures in black and white but it is a form of photography that is considered very beautiful and where a photographer can be very creative. It has a purity of expression with many shades from darkness to light.  I particularly like trees with various sizes and bold shapes.  The reflections of light in the water is opaque and luminous. These photos were taken at Washington Oaks State Park during a walk.

Chambers Island Wildlife Refuge

The wildlife Refuge of Chambers Island had birds, birds and more birds everywhere.

Chambers Island Lighthouse

I actually was more interested in the grounds and surrounded shoreline then the actual lighthouse.  There was a fog over the lake and visibility was poor.  An old tool shed was on the property and several entrances to trails down to the beach. It is located on Chambers Island in Door County, Wisconsin.

Crossing Crescent Beach Bridge

On the drive to Crescent Beach, one must drive over the 206 Bridge.  The bridge was drawn so a cargo boat could pass through.  The storm clouds were resting on top of Matanzas River this morning.

Crossing the Bar
by Lord Alfred Tennyson

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
      Turns again home.

   Twilight and evening bell,
      And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
      When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

Fishing Boat, Sea Gulls and an Luminous Beach

A few more sights of my Butler Beach walk.  The third picture has a flock of sea gulls flying low over the waves.  In fact, their colors blend into the ocean caps and the waves look like gleaming water rolling onto shore. The beach was luminous in all directions.

Golden Glow of Butler Beach

Several pictures of the landscape at Butler Beach I took during my morning walk of sea oats, walk ways, and sand dunes.
