Images from Georgia Route 82 - Early May

You always hear about the bread belt and the vast open fields of the mid-west.  South Georgia is flat and also known for its endless rows of plants as far as the eye can see.  Images from highway 82 in early May.

Welcome through our Tennessee Gates

Nothing more inviting then a long road of beautiful trees to welcome you at the gate and lead you down the road.  Enter into a real fantasy of green earth.

Pretty Boy Among the Flowers

Ladies love to show thier garden flowers and grandma Brown is no different.  Here is an assortment of her spring flowers with her beloved "Pretty Boy" napping among the flowers.

What Island is this Where Clouds Touch the Earth?

The Clouds look like they were going to swallow the islands and devour the earth.  Stephen King should be so lucky to see such a sight!

Harrington Lake - A Gathering of Storm Clouds

A church picnie at Harrington Lake looked like a storm would wash away everything in sight but not a drop of rain touched the other side of the lake.  We were on God's Side.  God is good!

Flat Rock - What was Once a thriving Unspoiled Nature Park

Flat Rock Park in Columbus Georgia was once a thriving community park located outside the main commercial area of the city.  It was a pleasant drive in the country to take your family on a picnic and enjoy the beautiful rocks and water fall.  The fall has dried up and the rocks look so bare without the flowing stream of water.  Neighborhoods have built around the park and it does not have the same unspoiled beauty of nature . They have cut paths for mountain bike trails for those city dwellers who love biking.

Mountain Veiw from F.D. Roosevelt State Park

Georgia is cutting its funding to many state parks and Roosevelt may be closed in the near future. Several of the access points have already been closed. It is really sad that we cannot preserve our state parks.

Pine Mountain Valley After the Tornado

You can't see the damage  to the valley's landscape from the Overview point at Pine Mountain.  Trees were pulled out of the ground by the roots and were scatted throughout the valley. A lot of destruction but it did not spoiled the beauty of the forest skyline.

Fly, Fly Butterfly, Fly in the Sky so high

I always enjoy a visit to the Butterfly Center at Callaway Gardens.  There were several bus loads of elementary children at the center so it made it an extradordinary experience watching the children trying to chase and attract the butterflies without touching.

Nature's Impressionalism - Monet In the Wild

You don't have to be be a french impressionist painter like Claude Monet to have beautiful paintings.  A good camera and mother nature is all you need.

"He Who Flies by Night beneath the Moon Light" Grey Owl

Through my window pane in the moon light, I see your silhouette and hear your "hoots" echoing among the tree tops.
