Port Crescent State Park, Michigan - "Who Walks on the Wings of the Wind"

O LORD my God, You are very great:
You are clothed with honor and majesty,
Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment,
Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.

 He lays the beams of His
upper chambers in the waters,
Who makes the clouds His chariot,
Who walks on the wings of the wind,
Who makes His angels spirits,
His ministers a flame of fire.

Psalm 104:1-4 NIV

Port Austin State Harbor, Lake Huron - "Voice over the Waters"

The voice of the LORD
  is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders.
The LORD is over many
  waters,
The voice of the LORD is
  powerful;
The voice of the LORD is
  full of majesty.

Psalm 29:3-4 NIV

Port Austin, Lake Huron - "In the Land of the Living"

 I would have lost heart,
unless I had believed
That I would see the
goodness of the LORD
In the land of the living.

Wait on the LORD;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen
your heart;
Wait, I say, on the LORD!

Psalm 27:13-14 NIV

Lake Huron - Finding Your Good Way

Thus says the LORD:  "Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls."

Lake Huron - "I Will Wade Out"

I Will Wade Out
By E,E, Cummings

i will wade out
                    till my thighs are steeped in burning flowers
I will take the sun in my mouth
and leap into the ripe air
                                  Alive
                                          with closed eyes
to dash against darkness
                                in the sleeping curves of my body
Shall enter fingers of smooth mastery
with chasteness of sea-girls
                                       Will i complete the mystery
                                        of my flesh
I will rise
              After a thousand years
lipping
flowers
           And set my teeth in the silver of the moon

"Ends of the Earth" Port Austin Harbor

These pictures are posted in sequence of my walk.  I love the aqua waters of Lake Huron against a endless horizon.  Located at the tip of the thumb of Michigan, Port Austin is know for fishing i.e. lake trout, walleye, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, brown trout, salmon and steelhead.  It was a quiet and rainy day with very few people at the pier.  One of the best walks for scenery if you enjoy walking to the "ends of the earth."

There is a band "Lord Huron" that named themselves after Lake Huron.  One of their songs is entitled "Ends of the Earth"

"Oh, there's a river that winds on forever
I'm gonna see where it leads
Oh, there's a mountain that no man has mounted
I'm gonna stand on the peak"

Dusk a Colorful Spectrum at Port Austin

Dusk to early evening images of the beach at Port Austin on Lake Huron.  The lake was very still and slimmers like blue glass with very few waves.  Lake Huron is large and deep but totally different from an ocean with no tide and very little breeze. I understand that these great lakes can be treacherous in rough weather and storms and have such large waves that they can and have destroyed large freight cargo vessels. Peaceful images like these can be deceiving.
